BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL!

GOALS

MOVING, A goal in our newsletter for years, finally, surprisingly, miraculously, has happened. And after looking all over for years, we have settled into a home 2 miles from our first. School for both of us has been placed on hold indefinitely as we plan a lot of home improvements on our new house! Check out this link for our LONG moving story. I also decided just for this year to not send out regular mail cards and newsletters and pictures - just to keep my sanity with moving in so close to the holidays! Those of you that got my change of address postcards - thanks for coming here through my web link on the card! Those of you that got this in your email, I sent it that way instead just for this year so you won't get a snail mail postcard in addition.

CHRIS

Chris really had an awesome year this year. He had very few sleep problems and has excelled in learning his picture/object at school. He also has a work area in the basement at our new house. We hope to start skating again in the winter - we took a break ever since last March of 05.

Most surprising in Chris's development is that we have discovered through a sedated ABR (hearing test involving wires on the head to measure brain waves) that he is severely/profoundly deaf! This actually gave us a ray of hope that if he has the proper hearing aids/cochlear implant, that perhaps he can learn to talk/communicate after all and perhaps his autism is not as severe as it had seemed in recent years. Perhaps the deafness was a large cause of some of his aggravation and mood the past several years. All this time, we didn't know. He is in the process of being evaluated to see if cochlear implants will be a help for him. We are just beginning the process, and we are waiting to see if his insurance will cover hearing aids for him in the meantime.

COLLEEN

is in 6th grade, and is adjusting to a new middle school 9 weeks after starting middle school for the first time, period. Colleen began to play the trumpet in February of 05 and is continuing to play at her new school. She is very talented! She is looking forward also to resuming skating, art class, and swimming this winter/spring (maybe not all together!). She has made new friends at her school, and I'm sure is eager for warmer weather to ride her bike down our new street to meet new friends in the neighborhood as well. We have had a new hamster, Spice, since January of 05 and we have a great deal of fun with her every evening when she wakes from her long day's nap! Colleen also now has 8 guinea pigs at grandma's. This is her pet page she has made: Colleen's Cavies.

RYAN

is in his first full year of preschool, having started last February at his birthday at the city's preschool. He switched over to the township preschool in November. He adjusted both to his new school and his new bed (no crib) AND new bedroom with no trouble at all! Well, except he still wants to sleep with us halfway through the night every night -- no change there!

Ryan has also been found to be hearing impaired; he was actually diagnosed first, in March, with mild/moderate hearing loss. He has worked up to wearing his hearing aids about 2 1/2 hours a day, most days, more when he has speech therapy. He is talking a lot better. We hope to have him fully wearing his hearing aides all day in a few months. I know we will see even more improvement then.

US

Dorene is planning to continue to stay home with the children until Ryan starts first grade. Then, she shall see - she will either continue to stay home (there is so much to do coordinating everything for the children and their schedules!) or perhaps may start to type at home again part time or try and find a job at the school system. Returning to college is still another option for each of us. Roger is very busy at work and with his cleaning business. We are just happy to have found our "lifetime" home and as the Lord helps our children to thrive more and more we will set other and further goals in our lives.

Another trip with our friends Rick, Nancy, Nick and Ashleigh to Port Clinton, Ohio, was a nice diversion in June. We spent two nights and did lots of swimming and sightseeing once again. We also for the first time put up a large inflatable Intex pool in our back yard. We had a lot of great times in there and also had a little more time in the house to just do some dishes while we watched the kids out the window! Pictures from our summer trip and our pool fun, and also the first pictures of our new house before we moved in, are here for you to see. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving after our move and first settling in, and are now preparing for Christmas. You may see those pictures:

old house packed with boxes and first pictures of new
moving in
our first snow
Thanksgiving, Chris & Chuck's birthdays, and pictures of our Christmas decorations

On both of these sites you may look at the pictures as a slideshow if you wish.

Have a wonderful, blessed season, and look for us to be back in full swing next year with snail mail cards and school pictures!

God will make a way
God will make a way
Where there seems to be no way
He works in ways we cannot see
He will make a way for me
He will be my guide
Hold me closely to His side
With love and strength for each new day
He will make a way He will make a way
By a roadway in the wilderness
He'll lead me
And rivers in the desert will I see
Heaven and earth will fade
But His word will still remain
He will do something new today.

More power to Ya

You say you've been feeling weaker, weaker by the day,
You say you can't make the joy of your Salvation stay,
But Good things come to them that wait, not to those who Hesitate,
So, hurry up & wait upon the Lord

Chorus:
More power to ya, when you're standing on His word.
When you're trusting with your Whole heart in the Message you have heard,
More power to ya, when we're all in one accord,
they that wait upon the Lord they shall renew,
They shall renew their strength

Jesus promised His Disciples He'd give strength to them,
Jesus told them all to tarry in Jerusalem,
When they were all in one accord the power of His Spirit Poured & they Began to turn the World around

(CHORUS)
So Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might,
Put on all His armour and fight the good fight, in all of our weakness
He becomes so strong, and He gives us the power & the Strength to carry on

(CHORUS)
